Week 47: GRATEFUL FOR
A few years ago, Nicole pioneered something around our dining room table that has become tradition. We go around the table during the meal (passing a bottle of hot sauce as the ‘talking stick’), and share something we were grateful for from the day. It gives us insight into the worlds of our kids and one another we wouldn’t otherwise have. And it turns our hearts in gratitude towards the One who loved us first.
On this Thanksgiving Day, we wanted you to hear what the couples from our first retreat said that they were grateful for. So, pull up a chair at the table and listen to our guests share with us their greatest takeaways from the weekend:
“We were able to name, clarify, and correct issues that hadn’t been dealt with because of busyness.” Sarah
“A new husband; and his greatest takeaway is a new wife. :). Seriously, this was amazing. Every time you had us meet to talk and pray, it was big. God did huge things for us, and in us, and spoke to us about ourselves and about our future.” Rebekah
“The greatest take away was the connection between our Lord and myself and the communication increase between me and my spouse. The care team is AMAZING!” Shelly
“Our marriage needs the Holy Spirit. We need to be three-in-one (husband, wife, and the Holy Spirit). If we are three-in-one, we are unbreakable, and undefeatable!” Musica
“Being able to quickly identify when the devil is whispering, and for my husband to be able to identify that disconnect, and be what I need in that weakness.” Rosie
“My greatest takeaway is the continuous theme of Trust the Lord to be with us and Listen to the Lord as he is speaking to us not only through our hearts, but also through others. Communication with our partner is easy when Christ is the center.” Anonymous
Lord, we are indeed thankful for hearts turned towards You. You alone can strengthen relationships and call us deeper with you and one another. We give you all the glory and praise! In Jesus’ name, Amen!
Now, let’s eat! Happy THANKSgiving!
