Week 22: HOP IN THE WHEELBARROW
Have
you heard the story of the tightrope walker Charles Blondin across the Niagara
Falls? He was a phenomenal talent who successfully
crossed the width of Niagara in a sack, on stilts, and on a bicycle. On one
such venture he stood before a crowd and asked, “Who believes I can put someone
in a wheelbarrow and walk them on this tightrope across?” The crowd roared its approval and shouted,
“We believe!” The tightrope walker then
asked, “Who will get in the wheelbarrow?”
The crowd went silent.
Our
journey has been much like this. Many believe. Many encourage. But few say,
“I’ll get in the wheelbarrow.” This past
weekend we saw people begin to really link arms with us. We are so thankful for
those who volunteered, who sponsored, who ran, who gave. We’ve made new friends too...people who are
excited about our mission. The Lord WILL
birth Camp Refuge and each of you play a part.
SPECIAL
FOCUS: Please pray that the Lord would
guide you in responding to his call. If
He’s asking you to jump in the wheelbarrow with us, drop us a line to let us
know how!
