Week 20: CREATING 'SOUL SPACE'
I
don’t know about you, but May seems like the busiest time of the year for our
family (except maybe for Christmas). It’s
the culmination of a year at school and dancing, which require a big PUSH at the
end. It can leave the soul
exhausted! Not to mention the hundred
little things on your to do list. It can
all be overwhelming.
A
dear friend sent over a couple of podcasts that addressed the weariness of the
soul, and the importance of creating ‘soul space.’ I found it to be incredibly refreshing and
practical. The two fundamentals were unplugging
from the things that keep you on the ‘hamster wheel’ (i.e. DON’T look at your
cell phone the moment you wake up to see what you missed) then releasing
the burdens you carry to the One who alone can carry the weight of the
world. Creating this soul space pushes
back the torrential tide that presses in on you, and allows your soul to
connect with God!

Our
prayer is that you would unite with God!
Special
focus: Please pray that as Nicole and I
lead Camp Refuge, we would invite the divine into the everyday.
